There are seasons when God feels distant. When the silence is loud and the feeling of His presence does not come, no matter how long you wait for it. This collection was painted for those seasons not as a denial of them, but as a declaration made directly into them.

He is in the midst. Not after. Not once it gets easier. Now, in the middle of it, at the center of what is hard and uncertain and unresolved. The feeling may not match the truth. But the truth does not require the feeling to be true.

Beneath every layer of paint lies scripture and hymns of faith pressed into the ground before the first stroke of color. What you cannot see is still there. That is the whole point.

Be still, and know. Not be still until you feel something. Not be still and wait for certainty. Be still ... and know. The knowing comes before the feeling. These paintings live in that space between the two.
